Job listing suggest Motorola starting to re-focus on wearable devices

Motorola owns a decent reputation in the world of wearable devices. But a new job listing made by the company, seeking a Senior Director of Industrial Design for wearables, suggests that the company has started to plan something real big (not in size), to re-focus itself in what to now has been a niche area. Motorola is looking for someone who will "provide strategic leadership, champion innovation and institute best practices to create a new world-class wearable’s [sic] design group within Motorola."

Motorola is working on something that is consumer oriented is seen within other passages of its post. For example, the wholly owned Google subsidiary writes that it wants a person who can "define design strategies that synthesize technology innovation and consumer desires...ensure creative direction for design is consumer focused."

This isn't the first time that a job listing from the company spilled some beans. Back in January, Motorola released a job listing from Motorola that confirmed an existence of the Motorola Moto X.  That time, the job post mentioned a specific product. This time, we are left wondering exactly what wearable device or devices Motorola has in mind. Certainly with Apple, Samsung, LG and Microsoft working on a new generation of smartwatches, we could certainly expect something along those lines from Motorola. Back in March, the Financial Times carried a story about Google and its desire to enter the smartwatch race. The company also does own a patent for a smartwatch that uses a flip-up augmented reality viewer.
